SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO-AM) There has been some second guessing of Sioux Falls' decision not to make major use of snow plows for the season's first storm.
But Mayor Mike Huether says the city was just trying to be prudent with tax dollars.
"It's a $140,000 for every inch (of snow), so we had the opportunity to spend about, oh, $600,000-700,000 of your taxpayer dollars," Mayor Huether explained Tuesday on KELO Radio's Greg Belfrage Show. But instead, Huether said that the city used chemicals trusting the predicted warmer weather to do the rest.
Huether said that if a citizen sees a problem street, just call the city and they'll come over to do some "strategic" plowing.
