SIOUX FALLS, S.D. ( KELO AM) - The Banquet's annual "Run for Food" Thanksgiving morning is becoming a tradition for many families in the Sioux Empire and a major fundraiser for the ministry.
Madeline Shields says the run features a one mile fun run/walk and 5k or 10K run with a suggested donation of ten dollars a donor.
Shields says meals at the Banquet cost $2.50. That means every $10 donation will feed a family of four a Thanksgiving dinner. She says "you can't go wrong with that."
Shields says if you don't live in Sioux Falls, gather friends and run where you are. Please send contributions to the Banquet's "Run for Food."
If you can't attend "Run for Food" send a contribution at the banquet-s-f-dot-org.
Runners give money to participate which benefits the Banquet's food costs. They're seeking larger gifts and sponsorships to support operations. Expanded services has led to an increase of 45% in operating costs for meals and milk.
