SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - There was a major power outage at Augustana University Monday.
Augie's Kelly Sprecher says thankfully campus buildings let in a lot of natural light. She says some classrooms were moved around to take advantage of available light.
Sprecher says there was a malfunction with a junction box located on campus. Sprecher says the southeast corner of campus was not affected by the outage.
She says the Commons Building, Humanities Center, East Hall, Administration Building, along with a couple of other halls were without power for a time. She says it was a rolling blackout and the school's ground's staff got on top the situation as soon as possible.
And we hear that some professors came into class wearing headlamps, just for the fun of it. Sprecher says a malfunctioning junction box blacked out most of the campus for several hours.
