First Friday and Parade of Lights

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - "Downtown Gives" is a joint effort of Sioux Falls businesses that benefits a local charity and this year's beneficiary is the Bishop Dudley House.

Brienne Maner with Downtown Sioux Falls says coupon books for charity go on sale during tonight's First Friday.

Maner says there are $15 coupon books for sale at 27 different downtown retail locations that are filled with great deals for the holiday season.

The Dudley Hospitality House offers daytime and overnight emergency shelter for the homeless and vulnerable.

Meanwhile...The 25th Annual Parade of Lights in downtown Sioux Falls is three weeks from today.

Maner says this year's grand marshal is Carol Pagones who founded the parade all those years ago.

She says this event is beloved.  People who have long left Sioux Falls return specifically for the Parade of Lights and experience all that downtown Sioux Falls has to offer during the holiday season.

Maner says the Parade of Lights is on Black Friday but she encourages shoppers to come downtown for what's termed "Small Business Saturday" too.
