SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Despite Donald Trump's allegation that the election is rigged, local and federal officials will handle any complaints of election fraud or voting rights abuses November 8th.
Federal District Election Officer Kevin Koliner says the Department of Justice seeks to ensure public confidence in the integrity of the election process.
Koliner says the United States Attorney will bring to justice anyone who seeks to corrupt the election process.
He's not at liberty to comment on the presence of official monitors at polling places. He does add that "there's no secret that the Justice Department does do election day monitoring all throughouth the country. South Dakota is not unique in having monitors here in the past."
Voting rights complaints can be made directly to Koliner, the FBI field office or to the Civil Rights Division.
Koliner can be reached at 605-357-2354, the FBI at 605-334-6881 and the Civil Rights Division at 1-800-253-3931 or justice.gov/crt/complaint/votintake/index.php.
