SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - The Minnehaha County Commission today briefly discussed the issue of getting rural ambulance reports from Dr. Jeff Luther as part of his oversight on quality assurance.
Commissioner Gerald Beninga says there's a simple solution to enhancing communication between the county, ambulances and Dr. Luther.
Beninga suggests withhold payment to the ambulance services until they submit forms to the quality assurance physician. And once they get there, he or she doesn't get paid until they are filed with the county commission.
Commissioners say they have received only one report from Luther in recent years. Luther says he has not received consistent information from the ambulance providers.
