SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO-AM) - Another small plane has crashed in the Sioux Falls area.

Turner County Sheriff Byron Nogelmeier confirms that two people died in a fiery airplane crash west of Viborg Friday morning.

Nogelmeier says the call came in around ten a.m. from someone who heard the plane in trouble.  He says the witness heard the plane sputtering and heard it crash into a nearby cornfield.

Nogelmeier says the victims have not been identified and he couldn't say yet where the plane was going to or coming from.

KSFY TV's Tess Hedrick reports from the scene that she talked to a neighbor who called the authorities. She says he described hearing a boom and then seeing a fireball.

Tuesday, a Beachcraft Bonanza crashed between Renner and Sioux Falls when an engine failed. The pilot and instructor were not hurt in that crash.
