SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO-AM) The long-awaited grand opening of the Midco Aquatic Center, Sioux Falls first public indoor pool complex, will be October 13.
"The entire area is chomping at the bit to utilize our new swimming center," said Mayor Mike Huether in making Monday's annoucement,"You won’t want to miss the grand opening to be part of a truly historic event for Sioux Falls and our citizens,”
Everyone can jump in the pool October 13, but there will also be a ribbon cutting ceremony with public tours October 12 at :30 p.m. There will be NO swimming at the ribbon cutting.
The Grand Opening for Swimming October 13, begins bright and early at 5;30 a.m. Mayor Huether promises to be there to shake hands when the doors open. What's more, he says he will do a high dive sometime that morning.
City officials advise purchasing a swim pass in advance.
The Midco Aquatic Center will be open seven days a week, and open swim will be available during all operational hours. The facility hours will be:
- · Monday through Friday, 5:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- · Saturday, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- · Sunday, 12 noon to 5 p.m.
Admission and swim pass rates were established by the Sioux Falls City Council in fall 2015.
