SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Sioux Falls GreatLIFE Challenge golf tournament at Willow Run opens Thursday with 144 women golfers who want to use the Symetra Tour as a springboard to the LPGA.
Ally McDonald of Mississippi is number three on the money list but is looking for her first tour win.
McDonald says getting to the greens in regulation is critical to winning a tournament. She says if you don't have very many opportunities for birdie, it's really hard to get good scores in. She says she can score pretty well just because she's on the green and giving herself an opportunity.
This is the second year for the Symetra Tour at Willow Run.
GreatLIFE brings the world-class golf tournament to Sioux Falls. Their charities include Special Olympics of South Dakota, Feeding South Dakota, Sioux Falls Fire Fighters' Step Up For Heroes and Juether Family Match points.
