SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) -- The City of Sioux Falls battle plan against the emerald ash borer will begin after Labor Day.
Postcards and door hangers will be used to keep homeowners informed when the city will be on their street removing trees.
The Parks Department's Kelly Mearas says hundreds of ash trees will be selectively removed from city streets and city parks:
"We plan to contract the removal of 2,200 street trees in 2019," Mearas told the City Council at the Informational Meeting today. "
The ash trees slated for removal will be marked with a big blue number nine.
