Sanford Health says rumors about Krabbenhoft's departure false

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) -- A spokeswoman for Sanford Health says that recent rumors about CEO Kelby Krabbenhoft being forced to leave his position at the hospital system are false.

Jacqueline Palfy with Sanford's public relations team confirmed a story issued tonight by SiouxFalls. Business that the long-time executive is not planning to leave Sanford until 2023 when he is 65.

The chairman of Sanford's board of directors issued a statement to SiouxFalls. Business in support of Krabbenhoft.

“Kelby Krabbenhoft is the president and CEO of Sanford Health. As he has demonstrated over the past 22 years at Sanford, Kelby is a visionary leader positioning Sanford as a world-class health care system,” board chairman Mark Paulson said. “He has the full support and confidence of the board. I look forward to the future with him at the helm.”

In the article, Krabbenhoft called various accusations that have swirled since Thursday night "scurrilous." He added he wasn't sure why someone would wish to spread such innuendos about him.
