Sioux Falls, S.D. (KELO.com) – The Red Cross is helping residents of a Sioux Falls duplex after a fire damaged the building.

Sioux Falls Fire Rescue responded to the fire at 2517 South Duluth Avenue about 4:10 Saturday afternoon.

Fire crews found smoke coming from a second story window of the duplex.  A small fire was found and quickly extinguished.

Residents were not allowed back into the duplex due to smoke and water damage.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Sioux Falls Fire Rescue reminds residents to test their smoke detectors monthly, check the detector’s expiration date, and have an evacuation plan in place for your family.
