Your guide to Fourth of July fun!

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) -- There will be plenty of Independence Day fun going on all over the state this week. Make sure to mark your calendars and make plans to take part in these community events:

 -SIOUX FALLS-

Fun Run/Walk: Wednesday at 8 a.m.

This event is FREE to participate, with walk-up entries accepted near the Overlook Cafe parking lot.  For those who pre-registered, T-shirt pick-up begins at 7:30 a.m. outside the cafe

 Family Parade and Picnic: Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The downtown parade gets started at 10 a.m. Northbound along Phillips Avenue beginning at 13th Street. A free lunch will be served for the first 5,000 attendees at 11 a.m. at the Stockyards Ag Experience Barn parking lot at Falls Park. A short program will begin at 11:30 a.m. with the presentation of flags, singing of the national anthem and a welcome by Mayor Paul Tenhaken. The Sioux Falls Municipal Band and Mogen's Heroes will also be performing.

 Jaycees Celebration: Wednesday at 5 p.m.

the Jaycees will be hosting their 51st annual Fourth of July Celebration at the W.H. Lyons Fairgrounds on Wednesday night. The event features kids activities and live music followed by a 20-minute fireworks show at 10 p.m. The event is free and lawn chairs are welcome. There is a suggested $10 donation for parking, which gets you two raffle tickets.

-BROOKINGS-

Uncle Sam Jam Festival: Wednesday at 5 p.m.

The Swiftel Center in Brookings is hosting the 17th Annual Uncle Sam Jam Festival. Free activities begin at 5 p.m. with inflatables, train rides and the Great Plains ZooMobile on site. Live music and a firework finale will cap off the night at approximately 10:15 p.m.

-FLANDREAU-

Fireworks Show: Wednesday at sunset

Head to Royal River Casino for a magnificent fireworks display. Enjoy food and drink specials at the River's Bend restaurant before the show.

Summerfest: Wednesday, 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Moody County Historical Society & Museum is hosting a day of Fourth of July festivities, including live music, food and craft vendors, live music and more.

-GARRETSON-

Fireworks Show: Wednesday at sunset

Go to the Garretson High School Football Field to see a free fireworks display starting shortly after sunset.

 

-HARRISBURG-

City Firework Display: Wednesday at sunset

The City Firework display will be around 10 p.m. on Wednesday night. Fireworks can be seen north of the Central Park area.

-LENNOX-

Old-Fashioned Fourth of July Weekend: Tuesday and Wednesday

Tuesday, participate in Cruise Night on Main Street and the Fifth Annual Street Dance. Events on Wednesday include the Fire Cracker Road Race, parade, live music and more. The celebration will end with fireworks at dusk, launched from the high school parking lot.

-LUVERNE, MN-

Fourth at the Lake: Wednesday

The 4th of July festivities begin with the Davis Lake Triathlon at 8:30 a.m. and the Bean Bag Tournament at noon. Other activities throughout the day include inflatables, Dock Dog Contest, Food Court and Beer Garden, live music and more. Fireworks are scheduled to go off at 10:30 p.m.

Fireworks Display: Wednesday at 10 p.m.

Head to Vermillion for fireworks behind the Vermillion Technology Center. Festivities begin around 10 p.m.

-WATERTOWN-

Fireworks Show and Parade: Tuesday and Wednesday

Watertown's boasts  "South Dakota's Biggest Fireworks Show" on Tuesday night at the Redlin Art Center. Admission is free and the firework show will begin around 10 p.m.  Food and beverage will be available starting at 5 p.m. with music at 7 p.m.

The Independence Day Parade starts in downtown Watertown at 2 p.m. on Wednesday

-YANKTON-

Fireworks Show and Concert: Wednesday at 8 p.m.

The City of Yankton will begin their fireworks display at 10 p.m. from Riverside Park. There will be a free concert from 8 to 10 p.m. at the amphitheater before the fireworks display.
