Sioux Falls (KELO.com) – Social media played a role in the successful search for a 16 year old autistic juvenile.
Officers were called to Yankton Trails Park about 5:30 Saturday afternoon when the he had not been seen by family for several hours. A large soccer tournament was happening at the park at the time.
Police turned to social media to help in the search, resulting in several tips near South Minnesota Avenue and West Laquinta Avenue.
He was found by an unknown Good Samaritan and returned to the park about 8:15 Saturday evening, where he was reunited with his family.
The family was visiting from out of state.
