Counselors work with individuals by educating them on Medicare and how to protect their benefits and avoid fraud. Medicare beneficiaries do not have to do anything to receive their new card, but should make sure their address is correct with the Social Security Administration (SSA) in order to receive their new card.
The mailings will be staggered throughout the year and are expected to begin in South Dakota in June 2018.
