SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) -- Mayoral candidate Greg Jamison's "Smoother Roads Ahead" campaign slogan is both concrete--and metaphorical.
He says he literally wants smoother roads--from fixing potholes to making the streets' traffic flow better. He even rides a road grader in parades, like the recent St. Patrick's Day Parade.
But the slogan is also metaphorical. He says "roads" need to be smoothed between the city administration and the City Council, city departments, the Chamber of Commerce, the State of South Dakota, and others.
The former two-term Councilor and current state representative says city officials, city workers, the citizens--the city--needs time to heal from the hard-driving style of the Mike Huether administration.
He says his first official act will be to get the public works director, the traffic engineer, and the chief of police and to "turn them loose" on problems with the city's roads, traffic, and crime.
