WATCH: GOP gubernatorial candidate Lora Hubbel

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) -- Former state Rep. Lora Hubbel, Republican candidate for South Dakota governor, would like to see an end to Common Core educational standards.

She says they don't take into account the fact that students all learn differently and the standards cause rigidity in how students learn.

Hubbel, who ran for lt. governor in 2014 as an independent, also sees immigration as a major issue. She says she doesn't buy the belief that some Americans refuse to work some jobs. 

She has has concerns about immigrants from some Muslim majority countries.

Hubbel also thinks that the Republican establishment in the state fails to make economic opportunites for all South Dakotans.
