SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) -- The double homicide in Sioux Falls last Friday was a 'drug rip gone bad."
Police Spokesman Sam Clemens says they'll continue to investigate and interview, but that's what it looks like: a drug deal gone way south.
Court documents reported by the Argus Leader say that a cell phone found near one of the bodies contained a text message referring to a meth deal. The documents also indicate that both sides were shooting.
Police are still searching for three people, including the alleged fatal trigger man, Manuel Jesus Frias. They are also looking for two women, Maria Shantel LeClaire and Crystal Maye Habben.
The victims of Sioux Falls first homicides of 2018 have been identified as Samuel Louis Crockett, 28, and Corey James Zephier, 30. The killings took place in the 700 block of West Rice Street.
His obituary says Crockett was born and raised on a farm north of Tyndall, South Dakota. Most recently he worked as a cook, and enjoyed mixing his own music. KELO.com News could not find any obituary or information on Zerphier.
