Dangerously cold weekend ahead (updated)

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) -- Wind Chill Warnings have been issued for the area.

The Wind Chill Warning covers the entire listening area, including the immediate Sioux Falls area. Expect wind chills down to 45 below zero in the warning area until noon Monday.

Frostbite can happen quickly at these temperatures.  If precautions are not taken, hypothermia and death are possible as well.  Limit your exposure, and keep a winter emergency kit in your vehicle if you are traveling.

Temperatures are expected to stay below zero throughout the holiday weekend.  The coldest temperatures will be from Sunday night to Tuesday morning, with lows approaching -25 to -30 Monday morning.

Temperatures are expected to warm above zero Tuesday.
