SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - The city hired a Denver firm, Sink Combs Dethlefs, to design the Levitt Shell and festival grounds at Falls Park West.
CEO Don Dethlefs says it's important that the venue can build on the strong traditions of Sioux Falls.
Dethlefs says the agency will look at different optional uses of what could happen from September to May to get year-round activities at the site. He says the plan is to energize the space to attract not only residents but bring in people from the region.
Design plans will take a year-and-a-half with the first concert planned for 2019. The same team designed the PREMIER Center.
Sioux Falls will become the ninth city in America with an official Levitt Concert Series venue. Others include Los Angeles, Memphis, Denver and Houston.
