SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Sioux Falls Police and the Penitentiary sent members of their honor guards to Dallas for the funeral of one of the five slain lawmen.
Lieutenant Loren McManus says an officer yesterday described the funeral procession, from the church to the cemetery, over the phone.
McManus says the officer told him that they were on a six-lane interstate that was closed in both directions. He says there was a line of visiting squad care from across the nation filling the interstate behind the hearse.
He say citizen had lined the interstate in tribute to the fallen officer. McManus says it's difficult, but very touching, and the support is much appreciated by law enforcement.
The officers drove to Dallas in Sioux Falls Police cruiser.
