MADISON, S.D. (KELO.com) --  A new kind of workforce development partnership in cyber security has been announced at Dakota State University in Madison.

DSU will join forces with the state, Southeast Tech, and the Sioux Falls School District to create more opportunities for students in cyber security and other cyber fields. The Madison school is nationally known for its cyber education.

The new collaborative effort is called SDPaSS, for South Dakota Partnership for Student Success.

"We thinks businesses of all kinds will appreciate SDPaSS because it will enlarge the pool of qualified job applicants, reduce industry training costs for businesses, and ultimately provide a stronger employee base,” Hanson said.“ says Dr. Richard Hanson, dean of the Dakota State University Beacom College of Computer and Cyber Sciences.

Apprenticeships and internships will be part of the new program. Governor Dennis Daugaard helped make the announcement in Madison on Monday.
