SIOUX FALLS, S.D (KELO.com) -- How big is the Turkey Day match-up between the Minnesota Vikings and the Detroit Lions?
According to KWSN sports director and Vikings season ticket holder Craig Mattick, real big.
"The Vikings have a chance to get a three game lead in the NFC North," Mattick said. "If they lose the game, it will only be a one game separation."
The Thanksgiving Day Minnesota Vikings game against Detroit could start to cement the Vikes' playoff hopes, according to Mattick.
After a six game winning streak this year, Mattick also doesn't see a swoon happening like last year's collapse after starting the season 5-0.
"Quarterback play is good," Mattick said. "Offensive line good. Defense good. Play calling has been good. Mistakes, not as much, If they can keep doing that, they'll continue their good chance to win."
While the Minnesota Vikings have to take care of business against the Detroit Lions on Turkey Day, the season has the potential to be even more special.
So, how about a home game for the Super Bowl in Minneapolis?
"It has never been done (in the history of the NFL)," Mattick said. "Right now, I give it a 20 percednt chance."
You can catch the Vikings Gameday pre-game show tomorrow morning with John and Craig at 10 a.m. on sister station KWSN. Listen to KELO.com news director Todd Epp's full interview with Mattick above.
