SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) -- The City of Sioux Falls has hired a Chicago firm to check out the rippled siding on the Sanford Premier Center.
Simpson, Gumpertz and Heger, Inc. will review the exterior siding to make sure it stays functional and doesn't cause problems down the road.
Questions raised by the once-secret Denny Deal led to calls for an independent review. One of the most outspoken was City Councilor Theresa Stehly.
"I'm grateful that we have moved quickly on this and I saw the members on the selection committee and I was grateful for the integrity I saw coming out of that, as well."
Stehly hopes that the review will take a close look not only at the panels themselves, but behind them as well to check for mold and other hidden damage.
The City of Sioux Falls issused the following release Friday morning on the selection of a company to examine the warped panels.
