UNDATED (KELO.com) -- South Dakota Republican Party Chairman, Dan Lederman, is apparently still registered as a Democrat in Iowa.
Lederman says it points to the need for some kind of national voter registry.
"If we had one in place when I registered to be a Republican in South Dakota 17 years ago, the state of Iowa would have been notified and I would no longer be on the voter rolls for that state." Lederman says that, maybe, he'll make a call to Jasper County, Iowa to try to get things squared away.
This slightly embarrassing, but politically amusing situation first came to light in a press release from long shot Republican Gubernatorial Candidate, Lora Hubbel, accusing Lederman of being an "active Iowa Democrat."
Lederman explains that his parents were Democrats and so was he when he was younger, but then "he grew up and had his eyes opened to the Republican Party.".
