PIERRE, S.D. (KELO.com) -- South Dakota's Marty Jackley has joined 37 other attorneys general urging credit agencies Experian and Transunion to stop charging consumers to place credit freezes on their accounts.
There's been a flood of freeze requests because of the massive data breach at Equifax, the third credit reporting agency. Equifax is already granting free freezes.
Jackley says all three agencies have a responsibility to protect personal information and the least they can do is stop charging ten bucks to place a freeze.
