The story came down today as one of those silly, goofy things you often find in politics.
South Dakota Republican gubernatorial candidate Lora Hubbel sends a news release insisting that her state party chair, Dan Lederman, is a Democrat registered to vote in Iowa.
She provided some form from the Iowa Secretary of State’s Office that showed that as of 2000, he was registered as a Democrat in Jasper County, Iowa.
Then he moved to South Dakota. And registered to vote. As a Republican. And ran for office—and won—as a county commissioner, state representative, state senator, and state party chair—all as a Republican.
