Bathed at times in white light and looking beatific from the church goers' undying adulation, Saint Garth Brooks of Tulsa held sway in the pulpit of country music, nostalgia, and personality for nearly three hours.
By turns the prodigal son who had returned to the Sioux Empire after wandering in the desert of fame and fortune for 20 years and by other turns the high priest of entertainment, St. Garth sacrificed his body and voice in a performance worthy of Jesus giving the Beatitudes on the shores of the Sea of Galilee.
