HARTFORD, S.D. (KELO AM) When Ben Jacobs of Hartford, South Dakota finally received a life saving liver transplant last month, it made his six-year-old daughter, Ari, very happy.
"My daughter went up and shook his hand, Doctor Langness in Omaha, shook his hand and said thank you for saving my daddy's life." recalls Laura Jacobs, Ari's mom.
Laura took a picture of the handshake and put it on the Facebook page of the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. Ben says it really had an impact.
"It was the second most liked Facebook picture they've had. The only one that beat it was Joe Biden, so she had some competition there." Jacobs tells KELO Radio's It's Your Business Show with Bill Zortman.
Ari and the rest of the Jacobs family want everyone to consider becoming an organ donor. You just might make another little girl or boy very happy.
There are about 50 people in South Dakota currently on the waiting list for a liver transplant.
