WASHINGTON, D.C. (KELO AM) South Dakota's John Thune Wednesday lifted the veil, a little, on the Obamacare replacement plan, that Senate Democrats charge the Republicans are crafting in secret.
In his Senate floor speech, Thune said the plan would be based on several core principles.
"Helping to stablize collapsing insurance markets, improving the affordability of health insurance, preserving access to care for those with pre-existing conditions,safeguarding Medicaid for those who need it most, and freeing the American people from onerous Obamacare mandates."
Thune promised the the rug would not be pulled out from under vulnerable people.
After weeks of working behind closed doors, U.S. Senate Republicans plan to unveil their draft healthcare legislation on Thursday. Majority Leader Mitch McConnell says it will have a different approach from the Obamacare replacement plan passed by the U.S. House.
