Undated (KELO AM) - A storm system coming through the area Sunday into Monday will leave a wintery mess behind.

The National Weather Service in Sioux Falls has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for snow, which is in effect from 10 PM this evening to 9 AM Monday.

Rain will develop during the day Sunday, changing to snow overnight, then, diminish by midmorning on Monday.

Two to four inches of snow are possible in the immediate Sioux Falls area. Depending on the temperatures and snowfall rates, higher amounts are possible in some areas.  Some areas north and east of Sioux Falls could see up to six inches of snow.

Winds could gust to 35 mph at times, causing reduced visibilities at times.  Plan on slippery roads for the Monday morning commute, so plan your travel accordingly.

A winter weather advisory for wet snow means periods of wet snow will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities, so slow down, buckle up and don’t use your cell phone 3while driving.

The latest road conditions for the state you are calling from can be obtained by calling 5 1 1, or checking www.safetravelusa.com/sd.
