SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Police identify the man who died in an ATV accident Saturday night in central Sioux Falls as 24-year-old Joshua J. Neal of Columbus, Ohio.
Officer Sam Clemens says Neal does have family in Sioux Falls but he couldn't say if he was visiting or living with them.
Clemens says a witness believes Neal was speeding on West 37th Street when he lost control of the ATV, hit a curb, a tree and was thrown from the machine. He was not wearing a helmet and hit his head when he landed.
Clemens says the witness gave first aid and called emergency responders. Neal died at the scene of the accident which was West 37th Street and South Walts Avenue.
Clemens says it doesn't appear that alcohol or drugs were factors but a toxicology report will be done. Investigators are working to determine Neal's speed prior to the accident.
