SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Representative Kristi Noem says House Republicans will again tackle the repeal of Obamacare when they return to Washington.

Noem says the repeal plan is not a failed effort.

She says it took President Obama a year-and-a-half to put the Affordable Care Act in place.  She says Republicans have been working on the bill, the actual text, for a few weeks and it's going to take some time.

She says there's been 65 hours of hearings on the bill and says she's been personally working on some of the reforms for a year-and-a-half.

Noem says the process is causing some of the public's confusion.  She says it will get through the process and that's going to look a little messy.  She says this process will be done out in the open and not behind closed doors.

She says House Republicans are determined to do it more in an open process than it was done last time.  Noem says hopefully lawmakers can get it across the finish line and benefit the people who are struggling under higher costs.

Noem says the repeal will also roll into a tax reform package that will be unveiled later this spring.
