Sioux Falls, SD (KELO AM) - Pheasants Forever is set to bring it's 2018 Pheasantfest convention to Sioux Falls 365 days from now, but it's never to early for the city to start planning ahead for the event.
Jodi Schwan with the Sioux Falls Business Journal says an entourage of representatives from the city are in Minneapolis this weekend observing the convention and making preparations for next year, and no detail is to small. "They're even signing up hotel reservations on the spot, I'm not sure that's ever been done a year ahead at Pheasantfest," Schwan told KELO Radio's Its Your Business with Bill Zortman.
Schwan says the event will cover every inch of the Sioux Falls Convention Center and Denny Sanford Premier Center complex, bringing in up to 25,000 people to area and amounting to what will be the largest convention the state has ever hosted.
For those unfamiliar with what the event brings, Schwan said expect the unexpected. "Cooking demonstrations, kids activities, and lots and lots of booths. Obviously it is a trade show." A Bird Dog Parade will also be held, where hunting dogs of all shapes and sizes will parade through the halls of the Convention Center.
