Corn growers meet in Sioux Falls

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Corn growers will meet in Sioux Falls Saturday to talk over the farm bill and prices at between $3 and $4 dollars a bushel.

Lisa Richardson with South Dakota Corn Growers Association says grain marketing will take center stage. She says the marketing session will be presented by Ted Seifried, chief marketing strategist with Zaner Ag Hedge Group.  That presentation starts at 9:15 Saturday morning.

Other corn topics include soil health and the farm bill.

Panelists Chris Clayton, ag policy editor for DTN/The Progressive Farmer, David Degennaro, agricultural policy specialist at the National Wildlife Federation and Christy Seyfert, assistant vice president and director of crop insurance for Rural Community Insurance Services will hold a farm bill discussion tomorrow afternoon at two

Mike Pearson, host of "Market to Market" and "Weekly Journal of Rural America" is master of ceremonies.

A social, silent auction and evening banquet featuring National Corn Growers Association CEO Chris Novak as keynote speaker and evening master of ceremonies Jim Woster will cap off the day.

The Corn Grower Association meeting is at the Sioux Falls Convention Center
