SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO-AM) About 60 students from Harrisburg North Middle School left Sioux Falls Regional Airport Wednesday bound for Donald Trump's presidential inauguration in Washington, D.C.

Trump is sworn in on Friday.

The 8th grade history teacher at the school, Tamra Huffman, put the trip together, so the kids could witness history instead of just reading about it in books.

KSFY-TV was at the airport as the students lined up for a trip of a lifetime and that's just what the students thought.

"Its a once in a lifetime kinda thing, I think, and especially for the inauguration of Trump who's never been in any political really," said 8th grader Josh Olson.  8th grader Evelynn Ducheneaux agreed.

"Its not everyday you get to go see a president become a president. Like that's a really rare thing. That's like a once in a lifetime thing," she told KSFY.

Senator John Thune's office arranged the tickets for the special class trip.
