WASHINGTON, DC (KELO AM) South Dakota's John Thune expressed a litany of praise for Businessman Wilbur Ross, as he opened Senate confirmation hearings for Donald Trump's pick to head the U.S. Department of Commerce.
Commerce Chairman Thune on Wednesday highlighted Ross' business and civic experience and the respect of his peers.
"I believe his extensive management experience in the private sector and his understanding of the challenges faced by workers and businesses alike will equip him well for the job of leading the Department of Commerce," said Thune.
Committee members focused most of their questions on Trump policies on climate change, infrastructure and trade in the four hour hearing.
