Pierre, SD (KELO AM) - Authorities in McCook County and Tea will get some upgraded equipment thanks to grand money from the state's drug fund.
The Tea Police Department will be cashing in on $3,614 to help purchase new computers, cameras, and other miscellaneous equipment.
While the McCook County Sheriff's office is receiving nearly $16,000 to purchase body-worn cameras for its officers.
Money from the state's Drug Fund comes from drug forfeiture arrests. Its distributed back to agencies to help better protect the public. This time around, nearly $400,000 was distributed to 17 different agencies including the state highway patrol, who will utilize $56,000 to purchase a K9 drug dog and vehicle.
