SIOUX FALLS , SD (KELO AM) - The South Dakota Department of Transportation (SDDOT), in collaboration with the Sioux Falls Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) and the city of Sioux Falls, will hold a public open house from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 6, at the Sioux Falls Convention Center, 1201 North West Avenue, to inform area residents of the findings and recommended potential improvements for inclusion in a twenty year improvement plan for the I-229 corridor.
A short presentation will be given at approximately 6:05 pm.
This improvement plan will include the following roadway corridors and interchanges:
Mainline Interstate - Interstate-229 from the Solberg Avenue Overpass to the 60th Street North Overpass (Approximately 10.5 miles)

The purpose for the open houses is to inform the public of the corridor study’s progress and to record any concerns the public may have along any of the study’s recommendations. The open house will provide opportunity for discussion with SDDOT, MPO, city and consultant staff. The opportunity to present written comments will be provided. Written comments will be accepted until Dec. 20, 2016.
For those who cannot attend the open house or desire additional information on the overall study or any of the interchange sub-studies, information is available online at www.i229study.com. The presentations and displays shown at the open house will be available online within a few days after the open house meetings. The website also allows for online comments to be submitted. The study team would appreciate hearing from the area commuters, concerned citizens, and adjacent landowners and business owners throughout the study period.
