SIOUX FALLS, S.D/. (KELO AM) - President-elect Trump made political hay out of a campaign promise to repeal the Affordable Care Act but it hasn't slowed people from signing up for coverage for next year.
Alexa Raymond is a Navigator with the Regional Office of Community Services based in Lake Andes.
She says election results have not changed people's opportunity to get help paying for their insurance, hasn't changed their plan selection or their opportunity to go out to the marketplace.
Raymond admits the election left marketplace customers with many questions.
She says she's been told to tell people that conditions will stay the same for 2017, it will not impact their eligibility.
Raymond says the concern for signers is will they be insured.
She says change is difficult for everyone, especially when no one knows what changes are going to be made. From the officials at the head, she says, they are telling her that the program is good for 2017.
People have until December 15th to sign up for coverage beginning January 1st.
