SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO-AM) The first winter storm of the season has come and gone thru the Sioux Empire. Here are a few things you want to make sure to stock in your car thru the winter season. Winter preparedness begins with having jumper cables in your car. Secondly, place several blankets or sleeping bags in your vehicle and thirdly have some non perishable food items with your blankets/sleeping bags. A few suggested items include dried fruit, crackers and nuts. Also make sure you have several bottles of water in your kit. Hopefully you won't ever need any of these items due to being stuck in the snow but you also may be able to help others with these items. As always use your winter driving skills thru the season and take the necessary time to get to places.
