Sioux Falls, SD (KELO AM) - Friday afternoon at 5:30 the SFPD, SFFR and Paramedics Plus Ambulance Service were dispatched to the indoor pool at Timberland Village Apartments located at 3401 E. 11th St in reference to a drowning.
Two male juvenile victims were located and tended to by medical personnel. The investigation into the incident revealed the 9 year old and 12 year old victims had been playing in the indoor pool of the apartment complex with friends when they went underwater. Both victims were found to be unresponsive and pulled from the water by a nearby witness and provided medical care. Both juveniles were transported to a local hospital where the 9 year old is listed in stable condition and the 12 year old is in critical condition.
The incident appears to be accidental and no charges are pending.
