SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - A search party for a missing Minnesota woman will wear blaze orange vests as it fans out across eastern North Dakota this weekend during deer hunting season.
David Singelton leads a group searching for Michelle Newell of Vadnais Heights who was reported missing in early September.
Singelton says Newell left Minnesota with Timothy James Barr who he describes as an acquaintance. He says they ended up in the North Dakota area where he claims evidence show a homicide was committed.
Investigators suspect Barr ran over Newell after she stole drugs from him. They were last seen together at a farm southwest of Fargo.
Singelton isn't saying where the search area is, citing security concerns. He's with the Minnesota Community Policing Services Foundation.
Because it's deer season, searchers will wear blaze orange. Search dogs will also be utilized this weekend.
Vadnais Heights is a Twin Cities' suburb.
