SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - A Brookings man bit a Sioux Falls policeman in the thigh last night when officers were called to The District for an intoxicated woman who fell and injured herself.
Sergeant Paul Creviston says 25-year-old John Hogan the Third is charged with aggravated assault, obstructing officers and resisting arrest.
Creviston says the Hogan became increasingly belligerent as officers tried helping the injured woman. Hogan is accused of throwing punches and kicking at the officers. When police got Hogan on the ground, he allegedly tried biting them.
Creviston says Hogan is accused of biting one of the officers in the thigh so hard that it broke the skin. He says the officer was treated and released and will probably be back on duty tonight.
No word on the woman's condition.
