Sioux Falls, SD (KELO AM) - Some Sioux Falls residents will go without power this week as Xcel Energy works on upgrades to the city's electrical system.
The Minneapolis company says the three planned outages will happen Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings beginning at 6, and are expected to last between 4-6 hours.
On Tuesday, an area north of Avera McKennen hospital on Cliff Avenue between 17th street and 14th street will be affected. That outage should last until 10AM.
Wednesday will see a large area near downtown affected. A chunk of customers in a rectangular area between Phillips Avenue and South 10th Ave, and East 18th St to East 20th St. will be without power, again from 6 to 10AM. That outage could extend to some customers as far away as 15th St as well.
Thursday's outage will affect customers east of Avera McKennen hospital and west of Interstate 229. That outage may last six hours.
