South Dakota's largest city is number two in Forbes annual ranking of the best small cities in America for business and careers. Bend, Oregon is number one.
Forbes lauds Sioux Falls for a young, educated workforce and business costs 22 percent below the national average. The city also gets kudos for strong median household incomes, and an abunance of health care and financial services jobs.
Forbes also highlights South Dakota's $3 billion in total bank assets, according to FDIC, the most of any state.
The metro areas were ranked on 14 factors, ranging from economic growth, to quality of life, to an educated workforce.
