SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Tonight's sleep out event is the largest fundraising event for the Bishop Dudley Hospitality House as community leaders camp out overnight to get a sense of homelessness.

Chad Campbell says so far this year the House has served over 1,100 individuals and 55 families.

Campbell says mental illness is the single most prevelant thing that staffers at Bishop Dudlely Hospitality deal with on a day-to-day basis.

He says that includes bipolar, paranoid schizophrenia, multi-personality disorders, anxiety disorders and social disorders

Campbell says the sleep is not the same as a homeless person trying to survive but it raises awareness.
