SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM)  - The Presidential candidates failed to address Social Security in the last debate.

Seth Boffeli with AARP Minnesota says Americans want clarity on social issues.

Boffeli says 170 million Americans rely on this program.  He says it's important to them that they hear from Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton on what they would do to preserve and protect the future of Social Security.

Boffeli says the three-legged tier comprising a person's retirement - Social Security, pension and personal savings - isn't measuring up.

He says 40% of the workers in Minnesota don't have a retirement savings plan they can invest their own money into that's offered through their employer.

Sunday's debate is "town-hall style" meaning citizens can ask questions and that will keep the candidates focused on issues important to Americans.  The deate is Sunday night at 8 at Washington University in St. Louis.

Boffeli says the last debate featured a lot of jabbing and gotch moments but there was very little substance on a wide range of issues important to Joe American.
