UPDATE: Dr. Jonathan Cohen is being held under a $1 million cash only bond.
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Police believe Dr. Jonathan Cohen and a 16-year-old, runaway Georgia girl met through an online dating website and she twice came to Sioux Falls for a sexual relationship.
Lt. Michael Colwill says the two got into an argument last Monday and she called 911.
Colwill says when police got the to the South Phillips Avenue home the girl was alone. He doesn't think that she was specifically in danger when she called. But he believes she was in a place she didn't know, she didn't feel that she had any control of what was going on with her and she needed help.
Colwill says the human trafficking charge stems from prostitution and coercion where the defendant has all the power and the victim feels powerless.
He says investigators will have to search all of Cohen's electronic devices. The girl is in the juvenile detention center and will stay there until a family member can come and take her home.
Cohen was arrested for human trafficking, procuring or promoting prostitution, sexual exploitation of a minor and solicitation of a minor.
