SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO-AM) Protestors gathered in Sioux Falls Monday night to voice their opposition to construction of the Dakota Access Pipeline. The 'Solidarity March' was held to show support of ongoing protests on the Standing Rock Sioux Reservation near Cannonball, North Dakota. Those in attendance were encouraged to bring supplies to send to those protestors stationed along the North Dakota - South Dakota border.
The march began at Van Eps Park at 6:00 PM and continued to Falls Park. Dennis "Two Horse" Quigley was a featured speaker.
These protests come after a federal judge ruled Friday against the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe's request to stop pipeline construction. The tribe claims the pipeline will damage sacred tribal sites and will affect the drinking water supply of tribal members.
